100 Deadly Skills Survival Edition Product Review
Out of all the survival books available on the market, Clint Emerson’s 100 Deadly Skills: Survival Edition is one of the most comprehensive.
Just how the title suggests, the book teaches you 100 skills in an in-depth guide and is written by a former Navy SEAL, which adds to the overall reliability of the shared information. You can read knowing the skills are going to be both practical and applicable to any potential emergency.
Emerson uses real-life civilian experiences to create a detailed guide to prepare you for the already-happened events of the world to the most unimaginable. The guide itself combines tested survival tactics with the use of tools that could be acquired easily, even in the most extreme of conditions.
Despite covering scary topics and situations, the book makes for an enjoyable read. It tackles serious subjects while addressing them with a tone that is suitable for younger readers as well as older, more advanced survival-thinkers.
However, it should be read or purchased with caution as children have different emotions and experiences.
Included in the book are clear and detailed illustrations next to each skill being discussed, and adding imagery to each skill makes it easy for adults and children to understand alike.
It all depends on how you best digest information; however, we believe guides that feature illustrations are the most popular and most effective too.
Illustrations allow you to imagine how to effectively adapt the skill and use the book as a reference where possible.
Some issues with the book are that it features a range of survival scenarios that are too specific that you, the reader, will probably never encounter, and won’t need to anticipate.
The book explores some quite far-fetched topics, and the survival advice you receive from a book must serve for more believable potential emergencies. That said, it could be argued that one can never be too prepared for the unexpected.
Another potential problem with the book is the list includes a lot of skills that are common sense and just presented in an exaggerated way. These distinct ideas are best suited to a younger audience or those who are just getting started with their survival-thinking.
On the market at an attractive price, you can acquire Emerson’s 100 Deadly Skills: Survival Edition without stretching your budget.
It is an excellent size to be included in your survival kit. For those using their time for pre-disaster preparation, it is also available as an Audiobook or on Kindle for even more sound information absorption.
You can do all the reading to prepare you for a survival situation, but you will only know how to entertain that scenario if and when you encounter it.
However, that doesn’t discredit the importance of educating yourself on the best skills and most effective tools you’re best acquiring to increase your survival chances. The best way of receiving that information is through survival books.
Emerson’s 100 Deadly Skills: Survival Edition, although a relatively new book on the market, has made quite an impression with survivalists because of its accessibility to people of all backgrounds and levels of expertise.
We do not doubt that this survival book would be an excellent source of study to prepare you for the darkest days.
