LEATHERMAN Wingman Multitool Product Review

The Leatherman Wingman Multitool includes 14 tools and will secure you for just about any survival situation.

The tools included:

  • Spring-action pliers
  • Spring-action wire cutters
  • Spring-action wire strippers
  • Spring-action scissors
  • Package opener
  • Bottle and can opener
  • Screwdrivers
  • Knife
  • File
  • Ruler

The pliers are the foundation of most multitool products; this provides the tool with the right size to incorporate multiple devices. Knives and scissors are essential when tackling the outdoors, and you never know when you might need them, and convenient for you, you won’t even have to open the tool to use them.

Size and Weight

Multitools have a reputation of being large and holding a bulky weight, which is why it has taken time for multitools to be sold as lightweight and compact products that appeal to the survivalists of the world.

The Leatherman Wingman Multitool, however, won’t leave you worried about its size and weight burdening your survival performance. Instead, with an overall closed length of 3.8-inches and a weight of 7-ounces, it will bring success to your survival story because of the convenience you will feel throughout usage.

Its portable size and lightweight design come with a removable pocket clip, which makes your Wingman always within reach and ready to use. As well as this, the included nylon sheath protects it from any elemental damage and can be stored away easily attached to your outdoor apparel or backpack.

Most will prefer one or the other, and it is worth pointing out the choice The Wingman offers with both its pocket clip and nylon sheath. I would say the sheath makes it more practical to use and

Construction

You want a multitool that can entertain a range of climates. The Leatherman Wingman is made from stainless steel and won’t experience rust because of its high corrosion resistance allowing it to be used in rigorous environments.

Whatever the temperature, it can retain its strength in the hottest of conditions because of its resistance to fire and heat and can resist scaling.

The stainless steel used is thick and substantial, and its overall construction and build quality are excellent for a multitool that has 14 pieces. It will last you a very long time, and if you experience any issues, Leatherman have you covered with its 25-year limited warranty.

Comparing all the tools, I didn’t get much use out of the can and bottle opener, file, and ruler. They all hold their own, but the file and ruler are quickly forgotten about, and you may find yourself never using them.

How much you use each tool will depend primarily on the setting you to find yourself in, so I would say The Wingman offers an array of tools to assist you in severe circumstances and everyday use.

Summary

The Wingman can be used to undertake projects around the house, on the job, or best used in survival circumstances. This product was helpful, and I found myself using it more often than I thought.

It is incredibly lightweight, and you almost forget that you have fourteen tools within reach. However, compared to storing it in my pocket, or using the included pocket clip, I found it to be the most convenient when carried on my belt.

I would certainly recommend the Wingman to anyone reading. Its inexpensive price and simple design can entertain both more experienced outdoor enthusiasts and for those who are dipping their feet in the deep end.

If you’re about to embark on an adventure and need a wingman to help increase your survival chances, you should find out why we’re directing you towards the Leatherman Wingman.
